The Congress party in Hyderabad has decided to recall the list of 37 candidates selected for nominated posts after the Lok Sabha poll results. This decision has caused uncertainty and anxiety among those who were originally listed, as a new selection process will take weeks to complete. Party sources reveal that some candidates are worried about their names possibly being omitted from the new list of nominees.

Many candidates who were previously approved before the Lok Sabha polls are now in limbo, as the Government Orders for their appointments could be delayed indefinitely. There are also concerns about who will be included in the new list and who will be left out. This news has led to a frenzy within the party, with individuals lobbying Ministers and top leaders in hopes of securing a nominated post.

A few of the nominated posts had Government Orders released, but without approval from the PCC leadership, the appointees were unable to formally assume their positions. The party leadership’s decision to revisit the list of nominees stemmed from dissatisfaction expressed by several Ministers who felt that many of the appointees were inactive during the elections. The fate of even those candidates whose appointments were confirmed hangs in the balance.

Amidst this uncertainty, even outsiders are now vying for nominated posts by highlighting their past contributions to the party. Everyone sees an opportunity to secure a position, leading to increased competition among aspirants. The situation has become so competitive that even long-time party loyalists are now throwing their hats into the ring, hoping for a chance to serve in a nominated position.
