    Hyderabad:

Congress MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy has challenged BRS leaders to join the upcoming Padayatra (a protest march) organized by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in January 2025. The Padayatra is in support of the Musi River rejuvenation project. He urged BRS leaders to show their genuine concern for the people by participating in the march.

Speaking at a press conference in the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) media hall on Saturday, Malreddy Ranga Reddy accused the BRS leaders of blocking efforts to clean up the Musi River. According to him, the BRS was deliberately obstructing the project because they did not truly care about the river’s condition.

In response to the derogatory remarks made by BRS leaders, including KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao, against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Malreddy Ranga Reddy said the BRS leaders were acting out of frustration over the upcoming Padayatra.

He also criticized the BRS for comparing their former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to Mahatma Gandhi. He stated, “KCR is not Gandhi; he is Godse,” implying that KCR’s actions were harmful to the people.

The Congress MLA further accused the BRS government of exploiting land resources in Ranga Reddy district. He claimed that while the BRS government had engaged in land misuse, their leader, Revanth Reddy, had never resorted to such unethical practices.

Malreddy Ranga Reddy also questioned why BRS leaders had neglected the pollution issues in the Musi River for the past decade. He claimed that they had illegally occupied land near the river and made huge profits from it.

He warned the BRS leaders that criticizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would have consequences. He promised that Congress would ensure justice for those displaced along the Musi River.
