Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to invite him for a public meeting. This meeting is to celebrate the fulfillment of a promise made in the ‘Warangal Declaration’ two years ago. The event will mark the completion of a farm loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh and is expected to be held on July 28, which is a Sunday.
Party sources confirmed that the meeting will likely take place by the end of the month, coinciding with the ongoing Budget session. With the Chief Minister scheduled for a 10-day tour to the USA in the first week of August, the party leadership sees this as an opportunity. They want to highlight that Rahul Gandhi’s promise has been kept since Congress came to power.
During the Assembly session, which starts on Tuesday and lasts for about 10 days, party workers will focus on mobilizing farmers for the public meeting. They aim to gather around 10 lakh participants. A party spokesperson mentioned that Revanth Reddy’s visit to Delhi was successful as he secured Rahul Gandhi’s participation in the event, likely scheduled for next Sunday.
Revanth Reddy was joined by Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, and AICC incharge (Telangana) Deepa Dasmunshi during his meeting with Rahul Gandhi. The same team also met Priyanka Gandhi earlier in the day. Later, Revanth and Bhatti, along with MPs from Telangana, met with AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
