In Gadwal, the Congress party State Representative Seksha Vali acharya announced that 2 lakhs rupees of farmers’ crop loans will be deposited into their accounts on Thursday. This initiative aims to support farmers in Telangana, where agriculture plays a crucial role in the economy and society.
The Telangana government launched the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme-2024 to alleviate the financial burdens of farmers and strengthen the rural economy. This scheme waives crop loans up to Rs.2.00 lakh for each farmer family, providing them with relief from debt and access to low-interest loans for agricultural inputs.
The scheme applies to short-term crop loans from various banks in Telangana, sanctioned or renewed between specific dates. The Commissioner and Director of Agriculture, along with the National Informatics Center, oversee the implementation process to ensure transparency and accuracy.
Bank Nodal Officers manage the digital signing of loan data and coordinate between banks, the Agriculture Department, and NIC. The waiver amount is credited directly to farmers’ accounts based on specific criteria, with special consideration for female farmers.
Exclusions from the scheme include certain types of loans, but efforts are made to address grievances through a redressal unit established by the Director of Agriculture. The government emphasizes accountability and transparency throughout the implementation process.
Overall, the Crop Loan Waiver Scheme-2024 signifies the government’s dedication to supporting farmers and ensuring a prosperous future for agriculture in Telangana.
