The Congress party has warned against false information being spread about the caste census. They emphasized that the caste census has nothing to do with the National Register of Citizens (NRC). The party is urging all citizens to participate in this important census, describing it as a chance to make Telangana more inclusive.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan, PCC spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin explained that the census is not about citizenship documentation, countering rumors spread by certain groups. He clarified that the census would include sections for minorities, especially Muslims in the BC-E category. This would ensure that communities like Shaik, Qasab, and Turka Kashavlu are properly represented. Nizamuddin highlighted the importance of selecting the correct category on the forms for accurate representation and asked citizens not to be misled by fake survey forms or fear-based rumors.

The Congress leader also promised that the party would work closely with civil society, affected communities, and experts to improve the census process through ongoing discussions. He stressed that this collaborative effort will help ensure the census accurately reflects the needs of the communities and serves as a true record of the discrimination they face.
