Warangal: The BJP is working hard to strengthen its presence from the ground level, said Union Tourism Minister and BJP State President, G Kishan Reddy. During a press conference in Warangal on Monday, Reddy shared that the party is focusing on a serious membership drive. This will be followed by forming committees at every level, from villages to the national stage.

Reddy also spoke about the current governance in Telangana. He said that there is little difference between the previous BRS rule and the current Congress government. According to him, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is delaying the implementation of key welfare schemes, such as providing double-bedroom houses, unemployment allowances, and crop loan waivers, just like his predecessor KCR.

Reddy criticized the Congress government for failing to start a plan to provide Indiramma Houses to the poor. Instead, he claimed the government was demolishing homes of underprivileged people in Hyderabad through a newly formed body called HYDRA. Other than offering free travel for women, Reddy said the Congress had not fulfilled its promises, including the Six Guarantees and over 400 other commitments. He added that the situation in Congress-ruled states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh is also poor.

Reddy further stated that Telangana, once a surplus state, has been pushed into debt under KCR’s rule. He believes that Revanth Reddy is following the same path. The Congress government, he said, has no clear plan for the Musi Riverfront Development Project. He also criticized both the BRS and Congress for encouraging party defections, calling it a mockery of the people’s decision.

When asked about the revival of Mamnoor Airport, Reddy said it was the state government’s responsibility to acquire around 400 acres of land for the project. He highlighted that all the development in Warangal is due to central government funds, mentioning initiatives like the Smart City Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), and the Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY).

Earlier in the day, Reddy visited the historic Bhadrakali Temple to offer prayers. He shared that the central government is focusing on developing temples in the Warangal district and beyond. He mentioned that the Centre has been providing funds to improve prominent temples in places like Bhadrachalam, Jogulamba, Ramappa, and Malkampet, with a total of 150 temples being developed across the region.
