Internal conflicts within the Congress party in Asifabad and Sirpur constituencies are getting worse. Rival groups are fighting for dominance, making things difficult for the party leadership. The situation has become so intense that leaders are filing police complaints against each other.
Ravi Srinivas, the constituency in-charge, is reportedly unhappy with how the party is handling these disputes. In Asifabad, a major disagreement has emerged between DCC President Vishwa Prasad Rao and constituency in-charge Shyam Naik. Naik’s group is upset that Prasad is being given more importance in party matters.
Tensions between these groups were already high. On November 2, during a district-level meeting on BC caste enumeration, an argument broke out between the two factions. After the altercation, Shyam Naik’s group filed a police complaint against Vishwa Prasad Rao, district leader Anil Goud, party mandal president Charan, and others. As a result, cases were registered against them.
Now, four months later, the Asifabad police have filed atrocity cases against Prasad Rao and several Congress workers based on Naik’s complaint. This has led to renewed political turmoil in the district. When asked about the delay in taking action, CI Budde Ravinder did not give a clear answer.
Reacting to the charges, DCC President Vishwa Prasad Rao strongly condemned the police cases, calling them politically motivated. He questioned why complaints were being filed months after the incident and reaffirmed his loyalty to the Congress party.
