The Telangana Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting ended after one hour on Monday. During the meeting, the CLP passed a resolution giving authority to the AICC high command to choose the Chief Minister candidate. However, no decision was made regarding the CM candidate in the meeting.
Most of the Congress MLAs expressed their support for A Revanth, the TPCC President, as the Chief Minister candidate. N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka were already competing for the CM position.
According to reports, M Bhatti Vikramarka and Sitakka will be appointed as Deputy Chief Ministers, along with receiving ministerial portfolios. From the Minority community, Mohd Ali Shabbir will be included in the cabinet. Revanth has chosen Shabbir as his cabinet colleague, despite Shabbir’s defeat in the recent elections. Other senior Congress leaders like D Sridhar Babu, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Damodar Raja Narasimha, Tummala Nageshwar Rao Vivek Venkata Swamy, and Vinod are also expected to be part of the cabinet.
The Congress high command will prioritize providing cabinet positions to different communities and maintain a balance based on population proportions.
