Congress Leaders Prepare for Warangal Visit and Discuss State Development
On Saturday, Congress leaders and ministers gathered in Warangal to prepare for Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s upcoming visit on November 19. The meeting focused on the state’s development and setting the agenda for the event. Among those present were TPCC president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, ministers Konda Surekha, Ponnam Prabhakar, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Advisor to the CMO Vem Narender Reddy, and Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy.
After the meeting, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud spoke to the media about the Congress party’s plans. He mentioned that the party will celebrate its one-year anniversary in power on November 19, which also happens to be the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Goud noted that around one lakh women are expected to attend the event at Mahila Shakti Pranganam, the venue for the celebration.
Goud also criticized the previous BRS government, accusing it of pushing the state into a debt of approximately Rs 8.5 lakh crore. Despite this financial burden, he said, the Congress government has managed to balance welfare and development programs effectively. He emphasized that the Congress has performed better than the BRS during its decade in power, citing upcoming projects like the Young India Skill University and the Musi Rejuvenation Project.
The TPCC president pointed out that some BRS leaders are concerned about the Congress government’s HYDRA initiative, which aims to restore lakes in Hyderabad and rejuvenate the Musi River. He also questioned Union Minister for Tourism G Kishan Reddy about his stance on the Musi River rejuvenation project.
Goud went on to criticize opposition leader K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), accusing him of staying isolated at his farmhouse instead of engaging in active efforts to develop Telangana. He urged KCR to step forward and contribute positively to the state’s progress.
Speaking about Warangal, Goud highlighted the significance of the region, which he said has always been a source of inspiration. He noted the presence of two women ministers from the area, which was once ruled by the historic queen Rani Rudrama. Additionally, he praised the leadership of women officials in the region, including collectors P Pravinya (Hanumakonda), Satya Sarada (Warangal), and municipal commissioner Ashwini Tanaji Wakade.
Later in the day, Goud and other ministers visited the Arts and Science College in Hanumakonda, where they plan to host the Mahila Shakti Pranganam meeting on November 19. Other notable attendees included MP Balaram Naik, MLA K R Nagaraju, and senior leader E V Srinivas Rao.
