Khammam: Uppatala Edukondalu, the Mandal General Secretary of BRS Party, has resigned from the party. He submitted his resignation to the district president along with MLA Mecha Nageswarao. After resigning, they joined the Congress party in Khammam in the presence of Thummala.

Senior leaders Gade Sivaprasad and Chapalamadugu Laxman Rao also announced their departure from the party. They held a press conference at their residence in Chandrugonda along with activists. During the conference, Edukondalu mentioned that he has been working for the BRS party since 2014. Due to his dedication and efforts in developing the party, he was appointed as the vice-president and later promoted to the position of general secretary.

However, despite his contributions, Edukondalu expressed disappointment that the mandal leadership did not acknowledge his work and even insulted him. He mentioned that he personally funded party programs and was not given any priority in the selection of beneficiaries for BC and Dalit Bandhu schemes. Despite discussing these issues with MLA Mecha, he did not receive a response.

Edukondalu mentioned that he belongs to the weaker section of society. As a result, 200 workers from the mandal, including himself, are leaving the ruling party. Other leaders such as Gunja Anjaneyulu, Challa Narasimha Rao, Khasi, D Mallesh, Lachu, Rama Rao, Uppatala Bhadramma, Ramana, and others have also left the party.
