Fresh trouble is brewing in the Telangana Congress as senior leaders express their anger over the party’s candidate selection. On Monday, leaders Suresh Shetkar, Balaram Naik, Rajaiah, and Ponnam Prabhakar held a meeting to discuss their concerns. They are unhappy with the party for not considering their experience and services in allotting tickets for the upcoming Assembly elections.
The senior leaders criticized TPCC president A Revanth Reddy for making unilateral decisions without taking into account the candidates’ contributions. They believe that relying solely on survey reports and political strategists is not acceptable for those who have served the party for many years.
Madhu Yashki, who wanted to contest from the LB Nagar segment, and other senior leaders are demanding tickets for the segments where they have a strong hold. They allege that the high command is delaying the announcement of names to favor wealthy leaders who recently joined the party.
Former minister N Janardhan Reddy also voiced his concerns, accusing Revanth of giving preference to newcomers in the party. The allegations of kickbacks in ticket finalization have raised doubts about the sincerity of the party’s leadership. Reddy hinted at his non-cooperation with Nagarkurnool candidate Rajesh Reddy.
In summary, senior leaders in the Telangana Congress are upset with the party’s candidate selection process, claiming that experienced leaders have been neglected in favor of newcomers and wealthy individuals. They are demanding a fairer and more transparent approach to ticket allotment.
