The Congress is struggling to finalize candidates for Khammam and Karimnagar. Top leaders are lobbying at AICC, and new names are being considered.

In Khammam, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy are making it difficult for the AICC to decide on candidates. In Karimnagar, the party is unsure whether to nominate strong candidates from the upper caste or BC, as BJP and BRS have strong candidates.

The party is confident about winning in Khammam, but Karimnagar is proving to be a challenge. Names like Aligireddy Praveen Reddy and Velichala Rajender Rao are being considered for candidacy.

There are talks of balancing between Khammam and Karimnagar by potentially choosing Teenmar Mallanna as a BC candidate. Another option is to field a parachute candidate.
