    Congress clears more than six names for Lok Sabha polls

    The Congress party in Telangana is speeding up the process of selecting candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. They have finalized names for more than half a dozen seats out of the total 17 in the state. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced Ch Vamsi Chand Reddy as the candidate for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat.

    The AICC high command has approved six more names, including four who recently joined from BRS. The finalized candidates include Kancherla Chandrasekhar Reddy for Malkajgiri, Patnam Suneetha Reddy for Chevella, B Venkatesh Neta for Peddapalli, and Bonthu Rammohan for Secunderabad. Other cleared names are T Jeevan Reddy for Nizamabad, K Jana Reddy for Nalgonda, and Suresh Kumar Shetakar for Zaheerabad.

    TRS is also considering fielding more candidates from the BC community. The party is contemplating whether to nominate senior leader K Jana Reddy or his son for the Nalgonda Lok Sabha seat. Other candidates in the running for tickets include S A Sampath and Mallu Ravi for Nagarkurnool, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy and Shivsena Reddy for Bhongir, and Mynampally Hanumatha Rao and Neelam Madhu for Medak. Candidates for Adilabad and Karimnagar are still being considered.

    Overall, Congress is pushing to finalize candidates quickly to gear up for a continuous poll campaign ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
