Hyderabad: The Congress party criticized Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for not securing any funds from the central government for the development of the Musi River. They suggested that the Minister should bathe in the river to fully understand the seriousness of the pollution problem.

During a press briefing at Gandhi Bhavan, PCC General Secretary Charan Kaushik Yadav and official spokesperson Lingam Yadav made this demand. They urged the Minister to take a bath in the river at least once in the morning to see the current state of the river for himself.

The Congress leaders also questioned why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was spending around ₹7,000 crore to clean the Ganga River, while Kishan Reddy opposed a similar initiative proposed by the State government for the Musi River.
