Buoyed by the success of Rahul Gandhi’s bus yatra in the State, Bahadurpura party nominee Rajesh Kumar Pulipati is hopeful of winning. Bahadurpura is one of the big Assembly segments of the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, with 263 polling booths and over three lakh voters.
Rajesh Kumar Pulipati is an advocate from the Padmashali community (BC-B). He has been listening to the problems of the constituency and making efforts to reach out to as many voters as possible. He claims that the incumbent, Mohammad Moazam Khan, does not make himself available to voters, and he believes this will work in his favor. After filing his nomination, he plans to intensify his door-to-door campaign and explain the six guarantees he has for the youth and women.
Kumar believes that Khan’s lack of visits to the six divisions in this segment has resulted in low voter turnout. In 2018, the turnout was just over 50%. Kumar has been involved in voter awareness programs organized by his party. He hopes that by encouraging more constituents to vote, not only will the percentage of voter turnout increase, but other parties, including Congress, will also receive more votes. Kumar is the convener of the TPCC Election Commission Co-ordination Committee.
As part of his campaign, Kumar will be releasing the constituency’s manifesto and highlighting the six guarantees. He is also compiling complaints from voters to address local demands.
Kumar is confident in his chances of winning because he previously contested municipal elections from the Ramnaspura division and is familiar with people’s issues. He has already started meeting people door-to-door and seeking support from senior leaders and community groups. He believes that the Congress wave will work in his favor.
