Telangana Leaders Call for All-Party Meeting on Lok Sabha Delimitation
Hyderabad: Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and senior leader K. Jana Reddy have raised concerns about the proposed delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies by the Centre. They believe that this move could pose a serious threat to Telangana’s political representation.
To address the issue, the state cabinet passed a resolution highlighting the possible negative impact of population-based delimitation. Following this, Jana Reddy wrote an open letter to political parties, urging them to attend a crucial discussion on the matter.
“The delimitation of constituencies based on population is a threat to Telangana,” the letter stated. The state government has decided to bring all political parties together to discuss the potential consequences of this decision.
The Congress party stressed the importance of participation from all political groups, stating that the meeting is being held in the best interests of the state. Special invitations will be sent to different political parties. The date and venue of the meeting will be announced soon.
