Congress MLA Seetakka has been announced as the Congress party candidate for the Mulugu constituency. She had previously contested from the TDP party in the 2009 elections and emerged victorious. However, she did not contest in the 2014 elections. In the 2018 assembly elections, MLA Sitakka secured a landslide victory against TRS candidate Ajmira Chandulal.

The Congress party has released its first phase list of candidates, which includes 55 candidates. Among them, 12 candidates are new and the rest are those who have previously contested on a Congress ticket. Mathampally Hanumantha Rao and Uttam Kumar Reddy families have been given two tickets each.

Jaiveer Reddy, the son of senior Congress leader Jana Reddy, has been given the ticket from the Nagarjunasagar constituency. This has gained attention as Nomula Bhagat is contesting from the BRS party. The Nagarjunasagar constituency is expected to witness an interesting battle between these two young leaders.

Jana Reddy, who has a history of contesting elections, is not participating this time, creating anticipation among voters. Jaiveer Reddy has been engaging with the public through the Girijana Chaitanya Yatra and highlighting his father’s development initiatives during his tenure. Jana Reddy will provide support behind the scenes to aim for his son’s victory, but the outcome is yet to be seen in terms of safeguarding his political legacy.
