    Congress Announces Candidates for 6 Seats

    The Congress party has finalized its candidates for six assembly seats in Nalgonda district. The candidates have been named for the Nalgonda, Nakrekal, Nagarjunasagar, Huzurnagar, Kodada, and Aleru constituencies. The remaining six seats will have candidates announced soon.

    In terms of seat allocation, Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, a senior leader and star campaigner of the Congress party, will be running for the Nalgonda assembly seat. Former PCC president N Uttamkumar Reddy has been re-allotted the Huzurnagar ticket, while his wife Padmavathi Reddy will run for the Kodada ticket. Kunduru Jana Reddy, a former minister and senior leader, has decided not to contest and his son Kunduru Jaiveer Reddy will be running for the Nagarjunasagar ticket. The Nakirekal assembly ticket has been allotted to former MLA Vemula Veeresham, who recently joined the Congress party. Birla Ailaiah has been allocated the Aleru ticket.

    Out of the 12 seats in the erstwhile Nalgonda district, candidates have been finalized for six seats. The Communists are also hoping to be allotted one seat as part of the alliance. The CPM is expecting the Miryalaguda seat, while the CPI is insisting on the Munugodu seat. The decision on this matter is yet to be made by the Congress leadership.

    Now that the candidates have been allotted their seats, they will need to work on gaining support from those who were also contending for the tickets. Efforts are also being made to reach a consensus on the Bhongir, Suryapet, Tungaturthi, and Devarakonda seats.
