BJP MP Eatala Rajender has urged teachers to support the party’s Teachers’ MLC candidate, Puli Sarottam Reddy, for the Khammam, Nalgonda, and Warangal regions. He made this appeal while campaigning in the district on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Eatala criticized former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) for implementing GO 317, which he claimed had negatively impacted teachers’ lives. He also accused the current Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, of failing to keep his promise of scrapping the order, stating that teachers feel betrayed by both the BRS and Congress governments.
He further alleged that the state government had neglected teachers by not clearing five pending DAs and failing to implement the Pay Revision Commission (PRC). He pointed out that, although the central government allowed states to abolish the CPS pension scheme, the previous KCR government did not take any action, and Revanth Reddy has yet to announce any policy regarding it. He also expressed concern over the delay in releasing retirement benefits, saying that many retired employees have been waiting for over 15 months.
Eatala claimed that the BJP was the only party that had consistently supported teachers. He emphasized that Puli Sarottam Reddy’s experience made him the best candidate for the MLC seat. He also highlighted the Modi government’s tax concessions of up to ₹12.75 lakh as a benefit for the middle class.
Several leaders were present at the campaign event, including former MP Sitaram Naik, former MLAs Saidi Reddy and Subhash Reddy, Khammam District President Galla Satyanarayana, Chada Srinivas, Allika Anjaiah, Corporator Dongala Satyanarayana, Shyam Rathod, PRTU leader Chennakesava Reddy, Dr. Papa Rao, and others.
