Bellampalli: Manthena Mallesh, a Congress leader from Bellampalli, has accused the previous BRS government of diverting funds from Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to areas controlled by the KCR family. He shared these concerns during a press conference at the Bellampalli Press Club on Sunday.
Mallesh claimed that BRS leaders collected large sums of money from workers and middle-class people in Singareni areas. They promised these individuals land deeds, known as pattas, which turned out to be ineffective for securing bank loans. According to Mallesh, while lakhs of rupees were collected in Bellampalli for these pattas, only 3,000 people received them, leaving 7,000 others still waiting.
He mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed that all eligible individuals in Bellampalli should receive pattas to help them obtain bank loans. Mallesh expressed gratitude to the Singareni management for restoring power supply to workers, as per the guidance of MLA Gaddam Vinod.
Congress leaders Potla Suresh and Md Ghouse also highlighted issues with electricity supply. They claimed that some Singareni officials had cut off power to workers in the Bellampalli area. They emphasized the vital role played by Singareni workers in the Congress party’s success and urged the government to provide free electricity to retired workers, their families, and current workers’ families who are in need.
