There may be some senior leaders who will not receive a ticket because there are too many people who want to run. The party wants to make sure that those who don’t get tickets don’t cause any problems.
There is a fear that the Centre may combine the state elections with the Lok Sabha elections.
Because they are expecting trouble from rebels and disgruntled ticket aspirants, the Congress has assigned senior party leaders to convince them to stay. These leaders will be stationed in different divisions of the state.
There have already been incidents where DCC chiefs quit the party because they were not considered for tickets. The party wants to avoid more incidents like this in about 70 constituencies.
