Mandal Congress Party activists in Wanaparthy expressed their unhappiness about BRS party leaders joining the Congress. The joint Pebbair Mandal Congress Party leaders led the meeting, with Dayakar Reddy speaking out against the trend. He mentioned the difficulties faced by loyal Congress workers due to this development.
Reddy expressed disappointment at seeing BRS party leaders wearing Congress scarves, especially after facing challenges and insults from them in the past. He raised concerns about the negative impact of these alliances on the party’s reputation and questioned the reasons behind such affiliations.
J Ashanna, the General Secretary of the SC Cell in Srirangapur Mandal Congress Party, supported Reddy’s views. He highlighted the legal battles and opposition faced from BRS leaders and praised the victories achieved by Congress workers without external support. Ashanna urged party leaders to discuss and resolve the issue.
Ashanna challenged the need for BRS party support by pointing out previous successes without their help. He called for a discussion between Dr G Chinnareddy, the vice-president of the Planning Committee, and local MLA Thudi Meghareddy to address the situation. Ashanna emphasized that they were not afraid of legal cases and were willing to go to jail if necessary.
The press meet was attended by district SC Cell ex-president, district youth Congress leader Gandham Ranjith Kumar, Pebbair Town SC Cell Secretary Dupam Sarvesh, Pebbair Mandal SC Cell Chief Secretary D Venkatesh, and other Youth Congress presidents.
