The TDP has decided to contest in all assembly constituencies in the upcoming Telangana elections. This has sparked a debate about potential vote splitting between the ruling BRS, the Opposition Congress, and the BJP. Even though the TDP has a small cadre and support, every vote counts in the election.

Since the TDP is seen as a political outfit for backward classes, the ruling BRS party may face challenges in wooing BC sections if the TDP fields candidates in BC-dominated segments. The Congress is also concerned that the TDP’s presence in the election will polarize the anti-incumbency votes.

The BJP is also analyzing the impact of the TDP in the polls. It is predicted that the margin between the BRS and the Congress will be narrow, and the TDP may spoil the chances of both parties winning in some segments.

TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that his party will field candidates in all 119 segments. A committee of senior leaders is currently studying the strengths and weaknesses of each segment. Naidu plans to hold a meeting soon to discuss the party’s campaign strategy.

Meanwhile, the BRS, Congress, and BJP are trying to recruit senior TDP leaders who are not active in certain segments where they previously had influence. They are specifically targeting leaders from the Goud, Yadav, Mudiraj, and Kapu communities who still have influence over rural voters in Telangana.

The Congress has also prioritized giving majority tickets to BCs in the upcoming elections. They will be reaching out to senior TDP leaders to request their support in the crucial polls that are likely to be held by the end of the year.
