The Hyderabad Metro has failed to add more coaches despite being asked by the previous government. Passengers are frustrated with overcrowding and are requesting a permanent solution. Last year, the Hyderabad Metro Rail decided to lease four rakes of three coaches each to handle the rush during peak hours, but this plan was not executed for unknown reasons.
To provide relief, the train frequency was increased to less than three minutes during peak hours. However, overcrowding continues to be a problem, especially on the LB Nagar-Miyapur corridor and Nagole-Raidurg route. Currently, around 4.8 to 5 lakh people are traveling daily. Passengers believe that increasing the number of coaches during peak hours would be beneficial.
Robin, a Metro Rail traveler, expressed dissatisfaction with the crowded trains and suggested that increasing the number of coaches would reduce congestion. Srinivas, an IT employee, also highlighted the increasing number of rides on the Metro but the lack of steps taken to add extra coaches. He emphasized the need to increase the number of coaches to accommodate general commuters who suffer the most due to lack of space.
In conclusion, passengers are facing difficulties due to overcrowding on the Hyderabad Metro and are urging officials to add extra coaches as a solution.
