Hyderabad: The Local Military Authorities (LMA) have once again imposed restrictions on civilian movement during the evening hours on roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment area. Residents have noticed that several lane gates are partially closed, making it difficult for civilians to move freely. These restrictions especially affect commercial vehicles on important roads like Eagle Chowk, Ammuguda, Protnee, and Richardson Roads.

These restrictions were put in place without any prior notice, causing heavy traffic jams, especially on the Rajiv Rahadari stretch. Manoj Kumar, a daily commuter, expressed his frustration, saying that similar restrictions were imposed last year. When he was stopped by Army guards, they referred to orders from higher authorities but did not explain the reasons behind the restrictions. Kumar suggested that the LMA should inform the public in advance by issuing advisories or putting up signboards at entry points to military areas.

Another local resident, Nikhil Sriram, pointed out that many roads remain closed without any clear communication from army officials. He also mentioned that the partially closed gates are causing major traffic jams in areas like Lal Bazar, Bolarum, and Lothkunta, making it very difficult for civilians to commute.
