    The Telangana government will start the second phase of its Sheep Distribution Scheme on June 9, as part of celebrations for Telangana Formation Day. The first phase saw 1.28 crore sheep distributed to beneficiaries in the Golla Kuruma community. In the second phase, 3.5 lakh families are expected to benefit. Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav has directed officials to ensure transparency in the distribution process. He also approved requests from the Madasi Kuruva community to be included as beneficiaries.

    The government has also organised a fish food festival in all district headquarters on June 8, 9 and 10, with 20 to 30 stalls in each location offering dishes such as fish fry, biryani and fish soup prepared by women fishermen. The festival will be inaugurated by Srinivas Yadav in Hyderabad, with local elected representatives opening events in their respective districts.

    The Rythu Dinotsavam celebrations on June 9 will include participation from dairy farmers and fishermen at all Rythu Vedikas. Cheruvula Panduga on June 8 will feature explanations of the fish and shrimp distribution at all reservoirs, with stalls and flexies being set up to promote the event. The Haritha Haram programme at all veterinary hospitals will also see officials encouraged to plant large numbers of saplings.
