Hyderabad: BRS leader Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said on Friday that the government had only completed 20 percent of the loan waiver program. He mentioned that when no farmers came forward to pour milk, district collectors were instructed to pour milk on a portrait of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Speaking at a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, Rajeshwar Reddy questioned why the Chief Minister did not fulfill his promise of waiving off Rs 2 lakh loans at once. He pointed out that when the BRS implemented the Rs 1 lakh loan waiver scheme, it cost Rs 16,000 crore.

He criticized the government for skipping Rythu Bharosa funds and using them for loan waivers instead. He urged the CM not to insult farmers by making statements about using taxpayers’ money for loan waivers.
