Surprise Inspection at Government Girls’ Hostel in Mahabubnagar
A surprise inspection was conducted at the Government Junior College Girls’ Hostel near the District Collector’s camp office in Mahabubnagar on Monday. Collector Viziyendira Boi visited the hostel following complaints about poor food quality and incidents of food poisoning in various government-run residential institutions. The inspection aimed to ensure cleanliness, proper facilities, and a good standard of living for the students.
During the visit, the Collector carefully checked different areas of the hostel, including the storeroom and students’ rooms. He instructed the hostel authorities to maintain strict standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises.
To better understand the students’ experience, the Collector joined them for dinner. He verified whether the meals were being served according to the prescribed menu and interacted with students to gather their feedback. The Collector stressed the importance of maintaining food quality and encouraged the students to report any issues directly to the authorities without hesitation.
In addition to addressing food concerns, the Collector also focused on infrastructure issues. He announced that funds would be allocated to repair the damaged flooring in the hostel rooms. This step aims to provide the students with a safer and more comfortable environment.
Hostel Welfare Officer Madhavi accompanied the Collector during the inspection. She assured him that necessary improvements would be carried out promptly to address the highlighted issues.
This initiative underscores the district administration’s commitment to the well-being of students in government hostels. It reflects their focus on creating a healthy and supportive atmosphere conducive to the students’ education and overall development.
