Funds Allocated for Development Under MGNREGS in Kagaznagar
District Collector Venkatesh Dhotre has announced the allocation of funds for developmental works under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). These initiatives are part of the Praja Palana Praja Vijayotsavalu (Public Governance Public Victory Celebrations) and Constitution Day events.
On Tuesday, the Gram Panchayat building in Ankushapur village, Kagaznagar mandal, was officially inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by Kagaznagar Sub-Collector Shraddha Shukla, Sirpur Constituency MLA P. Harish, and District Rural Development Officer Dattaram.
The Collector revealed that Rs 37 crore has been sanctioned under MGNREGS for various projects. These include initiatives such as the Indira Mahila Shakti – Employment Assurance Scheme, horticulture development projects, afforestation drives under Vanamahotsavam, water resource management, and rural infrastructure development.
As part of these efforts, 80 Anganwadi centers and 30 Gram Panchayat buildings are set to be constructed. These projects aim to strengthen rural infrastructure and improve local governance facilities.
Collector Venkatesh Dhotre also highlighted the importance of effectively implementing the government’s six guarantees and other welfare schemes. He urged officials and public representatives to work together to make the Vijayotsavalu celebrations a success, which will continue until December 7. He also emphasized the significance of involving the public as active participants in these initiatives.
To mark Constitution Day, several development projects were launched across the district. These efforts underscore the administration’s commitment to enhancing rural welfare and building sustainable infrastructure for the community.
