The government is offering a support price along with a bonus of Rs 500 for small grains in the state. To prevent grain from other states from entering, vehicle checks will be conducted at the state borders.
District Collector Venkatesh Dotre emphasized that these checks need to be done with strict security. On Tuesday, he made a surprise visit to inspect the check post located on the national highway at the state border in Wankidi mandal.
During the visit, the Collector instructed the revenue and police officials at the check post to stay alert and work around the clock in shifts. He explained that because of the Rs 500 bonus per quintal, there is a chance that grain from other states might be brought in. To stop this, the officials need to be very diligent in their duties.
