On Sunday, Patil visited the YTC in the ITDA premises and inspected clay-based traditional structures. He also reviewed the clay bricks being made for low-cost, eco-friendly, and durable construction in rural areas.

The Collector pointed out that even in tribal villages, old-fashioned clay structures are not only affordable but also environmentally friendly. He explained that homes built with clay bricks can provide a healthy living environment for up to ten years, reducing the risk of diseases.

Patil further noted that various facilities such as houses, toilets, bathrooms, and Anganwadi centers can be constructed using clay at a low cost. He explained that materials like stones from ponds, streams, and cellars, as well as clay from crop fields, are readily available in rural areas for making bricks.

According to him, mud houses offer a pleasant living environment in all weather conditions and promote a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, he mentioned that such houses are safer for tribal communities during natural calamities, as they minimize the risk of loss of life in case of accidents.

The program was attended by Gram Panchayat EO Srinivas, tribal museum in-charge Veeraswamy, and several others.
