    Collector urges creation of action plan to raise NREGS wages

    Bhupalpalli: Key Focus on Employment Guarantee Scheme for the Next Three Months

    District Collector Rahul Sharma highlighted the importance of the next three months for implementing the Employment Guarantee Scheme effectively. He stated that this period is critical for achieving the scheme’s objectives and improving infrastructure in villages.

    A review meeting was convened at the IDOC office, involving officials such as MPDOs, MPOs, APOs, TAs, and ECs. During the meeting, the Collector instructed the officials to create action plans aimed at increasing the wage rate under the scheme. He emphasized utilizing the scheme’s projects to develop necessary village infrastructure in a systematic way.

    Currently, the wage rate in the district under the Employment Guarantee Scheme is Rs 198. The Collector directed the officials to take measures to raise it to above Rs 250. He also stressed the importance of mobilizing labor effectively to meet the annual target. Out of the goal of 23,38,117 workdays for this financial year, 18,32,324 workdays have already been completed.

    The Collector shared that Rs 3629.43 lakh has been disbursed as wages under the scheme, while Rs 2472.76 lakh has been allocated for the material component. He suggested maintaining village and urban nature parks properly as part of the ongoing efforts.

    With the Gram Panchayat elections approaching, the Collector instructed officials to identify polling stations in advance. He specified that polling stations should only be set up in government offices. Additionally, he announced that MPDOs would serve as assistant election authorities to facilitate the smooth conduct of the elections.

    As part of Prajapalana – Praja Vijayotsava celebrations, the Collector ordered that all government offices be beautifully decorated with electric lights from December 1st to 9th. He emphasized that the decorations should enhance the festive atmosphere across all offices.

    The meeting was attended by Additional Collector of Local Bodies Vijayalakshmi, DRDO Naresh, DPO Narayana Rao, as well as MPDOs, MPOs, APOs, TAs, and ECs from various mandals in the district.
