Warangal District Collector P Pravinya and Municipal commissioner Shaik Rizwan Basha participated in the ‘Heritage Walk’ in Warangal on Sunday. The walk was organized by the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) in celebration of ‘World Tourism Day’ on September 27. The purpose of the walk was to highlight the importance of the region’s heritage and culture. Pravinya emphasized the historical significance of the city and encouraged people to work towards the theme of the World Tourism Day, which is ‘Tourism and Green Investment’.
During the Heritage Walk, participants displayed placards promoting tourism development, cleanliness, and voter awareness. Municipal commissioner Shaik Rizwan Basha called for the public’s participation in tourism day programs and expressed gratitude to National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers for their dedication in building a better future for communities.
District tourism officer M Shivaji announced that a boating facility will be inaugurated at Bhadrakali Bund on September 27 as part of World Tourism Day. Kusuma Surya Kiran of the Tourism Department provided attendees with information about the historical significance of the region and the importance of Tourism Day.
Various officials and community members, including GWMC Corporators, the President of Warangal Chamber of Commerce, Tahsildar Nageshwar Rao, NSS Coordinator K Srinivas Rao, and guide Ravi Yadav, were also present at the event.
