Nagarkurnool District Collector Badavath Santosh has instructed medical staff to ensure quality medical services in government hospitals. On Thursday, he made a surprise visit to the 50-bed Government Community Health Center in Kalwakurthy town.
During his inspection, the Collector asked about the number of doctors and staff present at the health center. He also questioned Hospital Superintendent Dr. Shivaram about the daily number of patients receiving medical services.
The Collector examined various departments, including the operation theater, the Rajiv Aarogyasri Center, the dialysis center, the outpatient (OP) department, and the emergency medical department. At the blood bank, he checked the blood reserves and emphasized the need to maintain all types of blood at all times.
He looked into the treatments provided to different patients, such as Lokya Naik from Koneti Tanda, who was treated for a snake bite, and Sai from Thimmaipally, who was being treated for a fever.
The Collector also ordered that information on the supply of necessary medicines to the hospital be provided. He highlighted the importance of having doctors available at all times, especially during emergencies. Given the season, he warned about the potential spread of dengue and malaria and urged the medical authorities to conduct emergency services in affected villages and monitor the situation closely.
He inquired about the number of people who have benefited from Rajiv Aarogyasri and stressed the need to prioritize normal deliveries for pregnant women. Additionally, he instructed the superintendent to maintain a high level of sanitation in the hospital.
The Collector encouraged the staff to report any issues they face at the hospital to him. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Shivaram, along with Dr. Annapurna, Dr. Swarnalatha, Dr. Rohit, and others, accompanied the Collector during the inspection.
