District Collector Muzammil Khan emphasized the importance of parent-teacher meetings (PTMs) in improving student outcomes during a training session for teachers in Peddapalli. He highlighted the positive impact of efforts made in the last 9 months to enhance government school education, resulting in a 90 percent increase in student attendance.
During the session, Khan stressed the adoption of best teaching practices, focusing on Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) and curriculum-based teaching methods. He also emphasized the need to not only teach children the curriculum but also to spark their curiosity and interest in learning.
Khan encouraged monthly PTMs in government schools, urging teachers to personally invite parents, create a festive atmosphere, and showcase students’ talents and skills during the meetings. He also announced plans for special summer camps in the district to provide continuous education and introduce new subjects to government school students during the holidays.
The Telangana Education Leadership Collective (TELC) team from Hyderabad provided additional training on effective PTM strategies for teachers during the session.
