Warangal / Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced plans to develop the historical city of Warangal to the same level as Hyderabad. He highlighted that the government has proposed the development of four new airports in Telangana and urged the Union government to support these plans.

Speaking at a public meeting as part of the ‘Prajapalana Vijayotsavalu’ event, the Chief Minister pointed out that neighboring Andhra Pradesh has airports in cities like Vijayawada, Tirupati, Kadapa, and Rajahmundry. Similarly, Maharashtra has airports in every major city. However, Telangana currently has only one airport, located in Hyderabad.

To address this, the government has already decided to establish a new airport in Warangal. Additionally, airports will be set up in Adilabad, Kothagudem, and Khammam. Revanth Reddy called on the Union government to approve these proposals and warned opposition parties not to obstruct the progress.

The Chief Minister also mentioned a Rs 6,000 crore development plan for Warangal city. This plan includes building an Outer Ring Road (ORR), land acquisition, an underground drainage system, and other essential infrastructure. The goal is to transform Warangal into the second-largest city in Telangana, following Hyderabad.

Revanth Reddy criticized the previous BRS government for not completing the Kaloji Kalakshetram project. He assured the public that his government has released enough funds to finish the work.

He also highlighted efforts to empower women through various welfare schemes. One such initiative provides financial assistance to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to set up solar power plants, a sector that has previously been dominated by large corporations like Adani and Ambani.
