Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP, Eatala Rajender, has advised that those in power should be careful with their words and avoid showing any bias when expressing their views.

Rajender made these remarks during a round table meeting organized by the Telangana Private Teachers Forum (TPTF) on Tuesday. He expressed his strong disagreement with the recent comments made by State Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy about private school teachers.

Rajender emphasized that while Reddy might have spoken differently when he was in the opposition, as the current Chief Minister, he should be more thoughtful in his statements. He clarified that no one is belittling government schools and colleges, and highlighted the respect and trust people have for teachers working in these institutions.

He pointed out that, in the past, individuals who had only completed their education up to Class X could secure jobs as teachers or sub-inspectors. However, in today’s times, even those with postgraduate degrees (PG) and PhDs are working in primary schools.

Rajender also touched on the history of education, noting that long ago, ashram schools were the only educational institutions available, which later inspired the creation of SC and ST Gurukula schools.

He shared a personal observation from a government school he attended in his youth, where there were dedicated PT (Physical Training) and drawing teachers. However, he lamented that these roles are now often unfilled. Rajender recounted attending the retirement event of a headmaster in Desai Palli, where the community was concerned about the school’s future since the headmaster was taking on multiple roles, including that of an attendant, due to a lack of staff.

Rajender concluded by saying that millions of parents choose to enroll their children in private schools for a better education and the opportunity to learn English. He acknowledged that government schools do have good teachers but lack the necessary facilities. He stressed that it is wrong to insult private school teachers, as these schools often provide all the facilities needed to offer a good education.
