A major bureaucratic reshuffle is expected next week in Hyderabad. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wants to create a ‘Dream Team’ of officials to help him implement his plans and improve administrative efficiency.
Reddy is searching for officials to fill top positions such as Chief Secretary and Director-General of Police. The contenders for the post of Chief Secretary include senior IAS officers Shashank Goel, Sanjay Jaju, and Ashok Kumar. Sanjay Jaju, who previously worked as Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, is considered a strong candidate. Jaju, Goel, and Ashok are known for their neutrality and are currently working on deputation to the Government of India.
Revanth Reddy is avoiding appointing officials with close ties to BRS leaders to important posts like Chief Secretary and Secretaries of key departments. The current in-charge DGP Ravi Gupta is attempting to retain his post, while senior IPS officers Rajiv Ratan, CV Anand, and Dr Jitendar are also vying for the top position in the state police department.
Other top IPS officers like C V Anand, Jitender, and Rajiv Ratan are also eyeing the DGP’s post. V Nagi Reddy, who holds the Additional DG rank, is currently serving as Director-General of Disaster Management and Fire Services. K Srinivas Reddy, an Additional DG to Police Organisation, is also being considered for the DGP’s post.
In addition to these changes, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has already appointed senior IAS official V Seshadri as Special Chief Secretary to CMO and B Shivadhar Reddy as IG (Intelligence) to handle important assignments related to law and order.
