Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged officials to speed up the process for local body elections. This includes finalizing the BC (Backward Classes) quota in the elections. He asked about the challenges that might delay the start of this process.

Officials informed the CM that the State Election Commission (SEC) is still waiting for the new voter list from the Election Commission of India (ECI). When Reddy asked how long it would take to receive the voter list, officials mentioned that the ECI had already sent the list to two other states.

Telangana, along with six other states, is expected to receive the voter list within a week. Reddy instructed officials to begin the election process as soon as the voter list is received. He suggested that the voter list for the respective local bodies should be prepared within a week.

Additionally, the CM directed the BC Commission to submit its report on the BC quota in local body elections to the government within a specified timeframe.
