Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed the police to take strict action against people involved in activities that disturb peace and create communal tension. He spoke about this after a recent incident at Secunderabad’s Muthyalamma Temple. Reddy stressed the importance of controlling groups that try to cause unrest among the public.
During the Police Flag Day Parade at Goshamahal, the Chief Minister paid tribute to fallen police officers by offering flowers at the Police Martyrs Memorial. He expressed his condolences to the families of the officers and reminded everyone of the important role police play in keeping peace and harmony in the state.
Reddy pointed out that maintaining law and order is essential for the growth of any state. He praised the Telangana police for preserving communal harmony, especially in Hyderabad, even during difficult times. He also assured that the government would fully support the police in dealing with anti-social elements.
The Chief Minister urged the police to take a firm stance against those who try to take the law into their own hands. He said there should be no difference in how the law treats offenders and those who try to act outside legal boundaries. At the same time, he encouraged the police to remain strict with criminals but maintain a friendly approach toward victims.
To address new types of crime, Reddy suggested creating specialized units, similar to the SIB and Greyhounds. He also announced plans to support police families by improving education for their children. For this, he proposed setting up institutions like the Young India Police School, modeled after the National Defence Academy.
Lastly, the Chief Minister assured that the Telangana government is committed to the welfare of police families. He promised that their children would receive high-quality education, comparable to international standards.
