Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy will soon lay the foundation stone for the long pending Metro works between MGBS and Falaknuma. The estimated cost of the project is between Rs 1,500 to 2,000 crore. This stretch was part of Phase-I but remained unfinished until now.
Revanth Reddy’s visit to Old City this week will mark the beginning of the Metro works. The completion of this project is expected before the Lok Sabha election code comes into effect. The estimated cost for completing the 5 km stretch is around Rs 1,500 crore. Once the government gives approval, the works will commence without major changes to the initial plan.
The stretch to Falaknuma will have about 5 stations along the way. Each kilometer of this extension will cost approximately Rs 300 crore. The Old City Metro JAC representatives are pleased that this important infrastructure project is finally moving forward. They credit Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for taking up this initiative and prioritizing the Metro in the Old City area.
The Metro extension will provide much-needed transportation options for residents, especially those traveling to Hitech City. The project will also make commuting to the IT corridor and the airport more convenient. The JAC members believe that previous governments ignored this area in favor of developing real estate on the outskirts. Thanks to Revanth Reddy’s efforts as PCC chief and now as CM, this project is finally becoming a reality.
