    Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has promised to develop Warangal into a major city, similar to Hyderabad. Speaking at the “Prajapalana – Pragati Bata” meeting, he emphasized Warangal’s historical importance and acknowledged the contributions of the people and students of Kakatiya University in the Telangana movement.

    To support this vision, the Chief Minister announced a budget of ₹6,500 crore for key infrastructure projects. These include the construction of an Outer Ring Road and an underground drainage system. He also mentioned that the government had kept its promise of setting up an airport in Warangal and assured continued efforts to establish a Kazipet Railway Division.

    Virtual Inauguration of Projects

    Revanth Reddy virtually inaugurated several development projects worth ₹630.27 crore from Shivunipalli in Station Ghanpur constituency. Some of the major projects include:

    – ₹200 crore for a Young India Integrated Residential School in Konaayachalam village, Jafargadh mandal.
    – ₹5.5 crore for a new degree college in Ghanpur.
    – ₹45.5 crore for a 100-bed hospital.
    – ₹26 crore for an Integrated Divisional Level Office Complex.
    – ₹148.76 crore for the second phase of the Devadula project and RS Ghanpur main canal lining works.
    – Approval for 512 Indiramma houses.
    – Road expansion and new substations for better connectivity and power supply.

    Financial Support for Women

    As part of the Mahila Shakti scheme, the Chief Minister distributed ₹102.1 crore to support women’s self-help groups (SHGs). This included seven RTC buses for SHGs. Additionally, ₹92.74 crore was given as an interest subsidy on bank loans to 48,717 SHGs in the erstwhile Warangal district. Another ₹100.93 crore was allocated for 1,289 SHGs in Jangaon district.

    Leaders in Attendance

    Several prominent leaders attended the event, including Ministers Konda Surekha, Danasari Seethakka, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. Also present were the Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, MP Kadiyam Kavya, and local MLA Kadiyam Srihari, along with other district representatives.

    With these large-scale investments and infrastructure projects, the Chief Minister aims to make Warangal a major urban hub in Telangana, boosting growth and development in the region.
