Bhadradri Kothagudem, August: The Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, is set to inaugurate the much-awaited Sitarama Project tomorrow, on August 15. This project aims to solve the region’s long-standing need for irrigation water. The official launch will include the unveiling of a pylon at Poosugudem in the Mulkalapally mandal area.
Inauguration and Events
The inauguration will involve several important events. After unveiling the pylon, CM Revanth will start the pump house motors and perform a religious ceremony at the delivery cistern in Godaramma. His day will begin with a flag hoisting ceremony at Golconda Fort, followed by a helicopter trip to Vaira in the Khammam district. There, he will speak at a large public meeting, officially starting the Sitarama Project’s pump houses. This project is a long-awaited development for the farmers in the joint Khammam district.

Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who has been preparing for the Chief Minister’s visit, called the Sitarama Project a major achievement in his political career. He stated that the project is not just about irrigation but about transforming Khammam into a green and prosperous area using the waters of the Godavari River. Nageswara Rao emphasized that the current government is dedicated to ensuring the effective use of the pump houses, which were built with an investment of 8,000 crores, for the benefit of local farmers.
Trial Runs and Preparations
Prior to the inauguration, a trial run of the Sitarama Project was conducted. On August 11, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy inspected the Pusugudem and Kamalapuram pump houses and started the trial run of Pump House-2. The successful trial run has prepared the way for the official launch tomorrow.
