Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has accused Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay of stopping legal action against BRS leaders. He claimed that BJP and BRS have a secret understanding, which is preventing corruption cases against BRS leaders like K. Chandrasekhar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, and T. Harish Rao.
Speaking at election meetings in Nizamabad, Mancherial, and Karimnagar, Mr. Reddy alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) interfered whenever cases were filed against BRS leaders. He said the ED took away important documents related to cases like the phone tapping case and the Formula E-race case. He questioned why the ED had not arrested K.T. Rama Rao despite seizing files, including those related to the alleged sheep distribution scam.
The Chief Minister also challenged Mr. Kishan Reddy and Mr. Sanjay to pressure the central government to bring back former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao and another accused, Shravan Rao, from the United States. He pointed out that a request for their extradition was sent months ago, but no action was taken. He asked if this delay was proof of a secret deal between BRS and BJP.
Addressing BJP leaders, Mr. Reddy said, “As the Union Minister of State for Home, bring the main accused to India, and I will show you the results you expect.”
He also accused Mr. Kishan Reddy and Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender of blocking important infrastructure projects in Telangana. He claimed that the BJP-led central government was delaying approvals for the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion, preventing the state from getting loans for the project. He also alleged that Mr. Rajender was creating opposition to land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road (RRR).
Mr. Reddy questioned why BJP leaders were supporting projects like the Sabarmati Riverfront Development, Namami Gange, and Yamuna cleaning in Delhi but not providing funds for the Musi River Front project in Hyderabad. “Do they not want development in Hyderabad and Telangana?” he asked.
Finally, he pointed out that BRS was not participating in the MLC elections, calling it further proof of their secret alliance with the BJP, similar to what he claimed happened during the parliamentary elections.
