Narayanpet: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made important announcements today about major development projects in the Narayanpet and Kodangal areas. He mentioned that the Kodangal project will soon be completed, which will allow Krishna water to reach the regions of Maktal, Nagar Kurnool, and Kodangal. Reddy stressed the need to finish irrigation projects, saying, “Even after ten years of Telangana’s formation, migration continues from Palamuru. As a son of this district, if I do not complete irrigation projects here, history will never forgive me.”
The Chief Minister visited the Sri Kurumurthi Venkateshwara Swamy temple during the Brahmotsavams celebrations. After offering prayers to deities Lakshmi Devi and Bhudevi Amma, he received their blessings. During the visit, Reddy also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Ghat Road and Elevated Corridor at the temple, a project estimated to cost around ₹110 crores.
Reddy also shared plans for the further development of the temple and asked officials to prepare reports and estimates for upcoming expansion projects.
Ending Migration from Palamuru
Reddy highlighted that the lack of completed projects in the Palamuru region has been a major reason for people leaving the area. He blamed past rulers for neglecting the region and leaving important projects unfinished. “We will not let attempts to hinder government initiatives succeed,” he said. Reddy promised to complete the pending irrigation projects to stop migration and ensure that farmers benefit from government policies that support sustainable agriculture.
He added, “If I fail to complete these irrigation projects, history will not forgive me. Those who try to obstruct our efforts will not be pardoned by the people of Palamuru.”
Skill Training and Jobs for Local Youth
The Chief Minister also talked about a key agreement with Amar Raja Batteries, which will provide skill training and jobs to 2,000 local youth. “Any company that comes to this region will be expected to train and hire local youth. This is the government’s responsibility,” he stated.
Improving Village Infrastructure
On infrastructure, Reddy emphasized that the government is responsible for building BT roads in every village and hamlet. He instructed district collectors to take immediate action on this. “We need to ensure that villages have better connectivity and access to essential services,” he said.
Additionally, Reddy stressed the importance of improving education, healthcare, and employment opportunities in the district to promote overall development. “Together, let’s move the district forward on the path of progress,” he concluded.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Ministers Damodar Rajanarasimha, Komatireddy Venkatreddy, and local public representatives during his visit.
