Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has unveiled ambitious plans to promote temple tourism, health tourism, and eco-tourism across the state. Speaking about the importance of tourism, he emphasized that it should be prioritized alongside other key sectors like IT, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, and construction. According to the Chief Minister, these initiatives will not only increase revenue for the state but also elevate Telangana’s global reputation.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of Experium Park in Proddutur village, which is located on the route to the Chilkur Balaji Temple in Ranga Reddy district. The park, designed to meet world-class standards, is expected to become a major tourist attraction in the region.
Prominent Personalities Attend the Event
The event witnessed the presence of several notable figures, including Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, former Union Minister and actor Chiranjeevi, MPs Anil Kumar Yadav and CM Ramesh, MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, and MLAs Kale Yadaiah and Malreddy Rangareddy. During the ceremony, Padma Shri awardee Vanajeevi Ramayya and his wife, along with Duscharla Satyanarayana, were honored for their significant contributions.
Government’s Vision for Tourism
Addressing the audience, Chief Minister Reddy announced plans to introduce a new environmental initiative inspired by the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” program. This initiative will encourage students to plant and care for a tree in their mother’s name, promoting environmental responsibility.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern about the underutilization of Telangana’s rich cultural and natural resources. Despite the state being home to globally renowned temples and breathtaking landscapes, he noted that many residents still travel to other states like Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and others for temple, eco, and health tourism. He stressed the urgent need to develop these sectors within Telangana.
Potential Tourism Hotspots in Telangana
Highlighting the state’s natural treasures, CM Reddy mentioned potential tourism hotspots such as the Kawal Tiger Reserve, Nallamala Tiger Reserve, and the picturesque areas surrounding the Krishna River in Kollapur. He urged for more attention and investment in these regions to unlock their tourism potential.
The government has already taken a significant step toward eco-tourism development by signing an agreement at Davos to launch eco-tourism projects in Vikarabad.
A Boost for Regional Development
Commending Ramdev Rao, the visionary behind the construction of Experium Park, the Chief Minister stated that the park would evolve into a remarkable tourist destination within the next couple of years. He added that such projects would contribute to the overall development of the region.
The Telangana government’s focused efforts in tourism aim to position the state as a leading destination for cultural, natural, and health tourism. These initiatives are expected to bring widespread benefits, including economic growth and enhanced global recognition for the state.
