Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Addresses Crop Loan Concerns
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has addressed the confusion surrounding the reported Rs. 31,000 crore crop loans in the state. He explained that the large figure includes long-term loans, which were mistakenly added to crop loan data due to errors from the banks.
“The banks combined the details of long-term loans along with crop loans, leading to the inflated figure of Rs. 31,000 crore,” he clarified. The issue has sparked debates about the state’s agricultural loan burden and the steps needed to address farmer debt.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need to fix these errors to ensure the data is accurate. He reassured farmers that the government is committed to resolving these issues and providing support to ease their financial struggles.
Revanth Reddy also highlighted the government’s dedication to helping farmers and addressing the challenges caused by such misreporting. The clarification is intended to build confidence among farmers that their concerns are being taken seriously.
The state government plans to hold further discussions with financial institutions to streamline the data and improve transparency in loan classifications. These efforts aim to ensure accurate reporting and better support for farmers in Telangana.
