Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy praised former CM Dr YS Rajashekhara Reddy for inspiring the welfare programs introduced during his tenure. These programs served as the foundation for the six guarantees announced by the Congress in the recent Assembly elections.
Reddy highlighted YSR’s influence in various developmental projects such as the Musi Riverfront Development Project, Metro Rail expansion, and attracting investments to Hyderabad. The CM expressed his admiration for YSR’s vision and leadership during YSR’s 75th birth anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan.
Reflecting on YSR’s legacy, Reddy shared how YSR had predicted Rahul Gandhi becoming the PM after winning power in 2009. He urged Congress activists to work towards making Rahul Gandhi the next PM, following in YSR’s footsteps of prioritizing welfare initiatives.
Reddy emphasized YSR’s enduring impact on Indian politics, with leaders across the country implementing welfare measures inspired by YSR’s legacy. He also credited YSR’s padayatra for influencing Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, leading to electoral victories in various states.
Recalling his own journey as PCC president for the past three years, Reddy acknowledged the challenges he faced in bringing the party to power in Telangana. He celebrated the hard work of 35 party leaders who were appointed to nominated posts, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and supporting dedicated party activists for a strong future.
