    Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Ministers, MLAs, and top officials, will visit social welfare residential hostels and Gurukul hostels across the state on Saturday.

    As part of the visit, they plan to join students during lunch to personally taste the food served and check its quality. Officials have confirmed that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, senior IAS and IPS officers, and other public representatives will accompany the Chief Minister. The aim of the visit is to assess the current conditions in these welfare hostels and interact directly with the students.

    The government recently made significant changes to improve the lives of nearly eight lakh students staying in SC, ST, BC, and minority hostels. Diet charges have been increased by 40%, and cosmetic charges have gone up by 200%. Additionally, infrastructure development projects worth Rs. 667.25 crore have been carried out in schools across the state.

    To ensure consistent monitoring and improvement, a State Education Commission has been established under the leadership of Aakunuri Murali. This commission will oversee the performance and functioning of the hostels regularly.
