The State government is working on a new project called HYDRA to help protect and manage Hyderabad as it grows. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy wants officials to figure out how to make HYDRA work and coordinate with other city departments like GHMC, Water Board, Traffic, and Police.
HYDRA will be responsible for managing an area of 2,000 sq km up to the Outer Ring Road. The project will focus on disaster response, protecting government property, preventing encroachment, managing traffic, and ensuring water and electricity supply. The CM wants a plan for HYDRA ready before the next Assembly session, with special funds allocated if needed.
To make HYDRA effective, officials from different departments will need to work together and coordinate regularly. The project will also take on tasks like removing illegal hoardings and advertisements, tackling illegal constructions, and cracking down on encroachments in ponds, nalas, and government lands.
Overall, the goal of HYDRA is to improve disaster response and protect Hyderabad’s assets while keeping the city running smoothly.
